Fatty Liver

The Liver and its Importance in the Human Body
The liver is one of the most important organs in the body, as it is responsible for a wide range of functions, including detoxification, nutrient regulation, and enzyme activation. It also secretes bile, which helps promote digestion and metabolism. This is why proper liver care is extremely important for maintaining our overall health, according to Food NDTV.
In addition, nutritionist Rupali Datta said: "The liver performs more than 500 life-saving and sustainable functions daily. It is also one of the organs that cleanse themselves. Therefore, it is very important to feed our bodies healthy and nutritious food, so that the liver does not exert too much effort all the time."
Treating Fatty Liver
The best and easiest treatment for fatty liver so far is lifestyle changes. Fatty liver can be successfully treated at home by following these tips:
 Maintain physical activity: Exercising helps treat fatty liver at home, even if significant weight loss does not occur. Exercise helps alleviate fatty liver by reducing weight and lowering the risk of obesity and diabetes.
 Reduce excess weight: Adhering to a healthy diet prevents fat accumulation in the liver, as the main risk factors for fatty liver are obesity and diabetes, both of which are linked to weight gain. If the patient is overweight or obese, losing 10% of body weight will have a positive impact on naturally treating liver fat.
 Eat healthy food: The following tips are the most recommended regarding the diet that can be used to treat liver fat accumulation:
.1 Increase the consumption of fiber-rich foods, such as vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds.
.2 Reduce the consumption of foods rich in sugars, hydrogenated and trans fats, such as fast food, commercial baked goods, and sweets.
.3 Follow the Mediterranean diet, which is high in healthy fats, fish, and vegetables, and low in red meat.
.4 Avoid processed foods and sweetened beverages.
.5 Increase the consumption of omega-3, polyunsaturated fats, and monounsaturated fats, which include olive oil, oily fish such as salmon and sardines, nuts and seeds; this confirms the possibility of treating fatty liver with olive oil.
.6 Quit alcohol consumption, which is one of the most important steps in treating alcoholic fatty liver.

Treating Fatty Liver with Natural Herbs

There are a group of herbs that are beneficial in treating fatty liver, the most important of which are:
 Green Tea: Consuming green tea supplements helps treat increased liver fat, and although drinking green tea is considered safe for most people, green tea extract supplements have been linked to acute liver disorders in rare cases (we have green tea with mate available).
 Milk Thistle: Milk thistle (in English: Thistle Milk) increases the production of enzymes that help the liver detoxify. Milk thistle, or its active component silymarin, may help lower liver enzymes that may indicate liver damage (a medical article explaining the benefits of milk thistle has been sent).
Licorice: Licorice supplements contribute to treating fat over the liver and protect against alcoholic liver disease. However, it is important to note that some people may be allergic to licorice supplements.
Treating Fatty Liver with Turmeric: Turmeric supplements help treat fatty liver and reduce inflammation.
Ginger: Consuming ginger supplements contributes to reducing liver damage, lowering cholesterol, blood sugar, and inflammation in people with fatty liver, and ginger is generally considered safe.
Treating Fatty Liver with Honey: A study conducted in China on 21,979 adults aged between 20 and 90 years found that consuming honey 2-6 times a week contributes to treating non-alcoholic fatty liver.
4. Beetroot Juice
Beetroot contains high levels of antioxidants and nutrients, such as folic acid, pectin, betalain, and betaine. It also provides a sufficient amount of fiber, manganese, potassium, and vitamins A and C.

Nutrition expert Rupali Datta says: "These nutrients (provided by beetroot) further help improve bile flow, which helps remove toxic waste from our bodies."
